Vegan Unbun Wins Gold at SIAL Innovation Awards
SIAL Innovation is coming back for its 12th edition by searching for the most innovative products in North America!
One of the most awaited events of the show every year, SIAL Innovation is the only international competition that reveal the most innovative products in the food industry while offering them global visibility. It is a unique international competition that rewards the best innovations in food and non-food related products, such as packaging and containers.
We entered ourselves for the first time this year and were selected as a top 10 finalist by the jury at University of Guelph for our Vegan Unbun! The unveiling took place on April 16th, amongst the industry’s key players in Toronto.
“It blew our minds! It’s a great bun first that’s gluten-free and ketogenic second. I still don’t know how they made it so tender and delicious,” Dana McCauley, food guru and Innovation Ambassador for SIAL Canada, tells Toronto Sun.
The show sees plant-based and vegan products as an emerging trend this year so we know that we’ve really hit the mark on this! On April 30, with the kickoff for the 2019 SIAL Canada Show, the awards ceremony took place. We are humbled and honoured to have won first place, taking home the Gold for our Vegan Unbun!
